Job’s Purpose

As a Construction Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction and renovation projects of our stores. Your primary objective will be to ensure that all construction projects within your area of responsibility will be completed successfully, meeting quality standards, adhering to budget constraints, and complying with all relevant regulations. What you will focus on

• Coordinate and supervise construction and renovation activities, ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors experienced in FMCG retail construction to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Review and approve change orders, variations, and additional work requests, assessing their impact on project timelines and budgets in the context of our stores’ requirements.
• Monitor project costs and expenses, identify areas of potential savings, and implement cost-effective measures aligned with FMCG industry standards.
• Review contractor invoices, verify accuracy, and approve payments based on contractual agreements and project milestones.
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders, such as project managers, contractors etc., to ensure effective communication and collaboration, considering our unique needs and expectations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including construction reports, change orders, and project correspondence

Who we are looking for

• Working experience of 5-10 years in a similar position, in the field of construction engineering. Any experience in a similar retail company would be considered an asset
• BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• MSc. is desirable
• MS suite literate with a focus on Excel and MS Project
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Fluency in English language, both written and spoken
• Ability to travel within area of responsibility
